19 User-Friendly Apps for Seniors, Alzheimer’s Patients and Caregivers, Individuals with Disabilities, and Special Needs Children

by CellPhoneCity.com

When smartphones hit the market a decade or so ago, they were so revolutionary that it seemed they were designed solely with the tech-savvy in mind. But times have changed, and it seems just about everyone owns or at least knows how to use them by now. Want to see proof of this? Next time you’re dining at a restaurant, relaxing at the park, or in the middle of just about any crowded space, take a look around – you’re likely to see everyone from toddlers to their grandparents using a smartphone or tablet!

With this in mind, app designers are creating more than just games these days. In fact, many are creating tools that make life easier, more manageable, or simply more fun for people everywhere. We’ve taken the guesswork out of finding some of the cleverest, most useful apps available for seniors, Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers, individuals with disabilities, and special needs children. All of these have been user-approved, receiving a rating of 3 stars or more, and most are free (or almost free!). Although we have listed all of these apps into the categories we believe they may be the most useful, many of them are beneficial to others as well. For another great list of apps, check out our Ultimate ADHD Apps Guide, which includes apps that help with organization and planning, improving mental focus, and relaxation and balance.
